Version 2.1.3 Quick Installation Guide

For
new installers it is a simple case of creating a new database using the template that can be downloaded from this site.
You will need to sign your database (or the Template first) with an ID that has permissions to run agents on the server.
The database will then run as it is. You should however change the following to tailor for your use:
You need to go into the configuration section - Site Configuration and edit the configuration document - see image below.
You should then change the information as detailed below.
Tab:Site Settings - URL of Site
Tab:Titles - Site Title
Tab:Titles - Site Description
Tab:Titles - Site Owner
Tab:Meta Tags - Author (Same as Site Owner)
Tab:Meta Tags - Description (Same as Site Description)
Tab:Meta Tags - Keywords (Words that describe your website for the purposes of web crawlers etc)
Once you have edited these then save your configuration document.
A couple of other things I recommend you do - firstly create yourself a User Profile document with the User Profiles view (again under the configuration section as shown in the above image) - secondly create a 'full text index' on the replica of the database that will be hosted on a web server - this will speed up the search facility.
ACL settings should include "anonymous" as a "Person" and with "Author" rights (ie the ability to Create Documents). Then it is up to you who else you add to it.
For
people upgrading you will need to:
- Replace your design from the new template.
- Sign your Database with the id of someone who has permissions to run agents on the server if the template was not already signed.
- Goto the new template - open and click on the right document pane (anywhere).
- Select the view menu and whilst pressing Ctrl-Shift - select Goto from the menu.
- The system views will now appear - goto the "All" view.
- Copy and paste the Document that is titled "ContentSEARCH" to your existing blog (this is for searching).
- User Profiles have replace the Information in the Personal Info section of the Configuration Document - you can create yourself a Profile Document within the Configuration section - User Profiles.
- If you want your blog to log RSS hits then you need to go to the configuration document - logging and click on the option.
- Click the "Rebuild Content" Option on the Action Menu

Then you will be ready to go.
