Audi

I have had my BMW 3 Series rag top for 4 years now and with my driving has done 100 thousand miles. It still drives pretty much as new however it is showing a few signs of age (not to mention the little dents here and there). The car itself has been very cheap to run and the service from BMW has been perfect. However before it gets to the stage where repairs and servicing could cost a small fortune I have decided to get it replaced.
Now whilst I know for sure the BMW is probably the best car I have ever driven in terms of handling, the ride, performance etc the new 3 series to me is just plain ugly. Whilst the ride is good etc ugliness is a real put off (I will not put any analogies here!).
So I looked around and I quite like the look of the restyled Audi and the vehicles they have to offer. I decided that my best bet was the A4 Quattro or the A4 equivalent of my rag top. I test drove a few vehicles and as well as liking the look I liked how they drove.
However my main point of writing is that the sales people are slack. I was ready to place an order 18 days ago but I have not been closed. They do not call back when they say they will call back (we are not talking hours we are talking I have to chase them after 3 days later).
So for me if the sales process is slack what happens after the sale and I have a problem? I am concerned. BMW have been fantastic every step of the way - pre sales and post sales.
I do like the car so just like IT management seem to go for Exchange sometimes because outlook looks nice, I may make a purchase even though I am suspect of a few key things like customer service!
Anyone got an opinion on Audi's, as a car or the pre/post sales experience?
